Message From CEO

Welcome to the new website for Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden. I hope you find it interesting, useful and informative. Since I came to Snug Harbor in December 2010, we have embarked on a number of changes aimed specifically at helping us take our place among New York City’s leading cultural destinations.  We are currently  implementing a five-year  business plan designed to capitalize on economic, social and political factors to provide a platform to achieve long-term financial sustainability and create a more vibrant center for the arts, education and entertainment, as well as beauty and relaxation.

We feel that the time is right for Snug Harbor to become an engine of economic development on the Staten Island waterfront as we take advantage of current public/private interest in adaptive reuse of historic properties, maintenance of green spaces, and preservation of affordable rental space for small cultural and other nonprofit entities.. As custodian of a spectacular historic site, and  manager of a wide variety of cultural, educational and entertainment venues, Snug Harbor is  well positioned to overcome its reputation  as one of New York  City’s greatest hidden treasures and become an outstanding cultural center that truly has something for everyone. I hope that our new website will entice you to visit our incredible 83-acre campus and take advantage of all that Snug Harbor has to offer.
