Offer dumplings and spring rolls, chrysanthemum tea for guests.

The legend of the Nian will be told and individuals and/or families make a Chinese lion using cardboard, banner paper. tempera paints, crepe ribbon, cotton balls, glue and staplers.

Discuss the schedule of events over the fifteen-day ceremony, and the symbolism behind traditional New Years foods.  The significance of the Lion Dance in current CNY celebrations will also be discussed.

2:15 parade to CSG

The tour will commence using cymbals, drums, and pop-it firecrackers. Tour of CSG emphasizes calligraphy and traditional design elements. Revisit the legend of nian and discuss traditions like chunlian.

3:00 Building P lobby

Offer niangao and chrysanthemum tea while discussing the significance of chunlian, hong bao, and niangao.

Make chunlian. Make hong bao.

Tell the story of Buddha and the Chinese zodiac calendar.Discuss the traits for 2016 fire monkey and 2017 fire chicken.

Distribute zodiac box takeaway.
