Snug Harbor: where history, art, agriculture and horticulture come alive.
When you walk onto the Snug Harbor grounds, you enter a place both different from and a part of the surrounding community. On a summer day, you may catch a concert in the Tuscan Garden, pick up some vegetables grown on our Heritage Farm at our farm stand, or see an endangered species of bird in the Wetlands. On a fall morning, you may watch the sun rise as you walk your dog or, later in the day, tour the New York Chinese Scholars Garden. In the winter, you might learn about the history of Snug Harbor at our information center and take in an exhibit curated by an artist-in-residence or attend a performance by one of our resident theater companies. In the spring, you may join in the celebration of the season at Harbor in Bloom or volunteer with our horticulture program as we prepare the grounds for another growing season. No matter when you come to Snug Harbor, an adventure awaits.
You can be part of the Snug Harbor adventure, too. Today Snug Harbor incubates new artists, supports local performing arts companies, provides fresh produce for hungry New Yorkers through our Heritage Farm, and educates students around the city on horticulture. Your contribution today will keep the adventure going.
