Jones and his wife Chris are long-time hosts of the Everyman Folk Club in Liverpool and will create that authentic British folk club atmosphere during this concert of sing-a-longs and sea shanties.
Jones is an unsurpassed singer of maritime songs and a formidable writer. He plays guitar, banjo, ukulele, and harmonica, and has recorded over thirty albums. His group The Spinners produced many popular albums and BBC television specials.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Christensen, whose husband Jan is an active participant in the museum’s monthly Sea Shanty Sessions, led by the Folk Music Society of New York.
The concert is free, but donations are always appreciated.
The museum’s public programs are supported, in part, with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council and Councilwoman Debi Rose, and Investors Bank Foundation.
