Three Friends of Winter Tour

In Chinese culture, the Three Friends of Winter are plants that are grouped together because they flourish during that season.  These have come to represent the ideal characteristics of the scholar, embodying the Confucian virtues of endurance, modesty, and fortitude.  Come see our pine, bamboo, and plum in the New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden to understand why these plants are so deeply valued.
