Get to know our spring 2016 visual arts exhibits. In the Main Hall of the Newhouse, witness the large-scale photography exhibition by NYC based photographer, Accra Shepp. His work, Unseen Unknown: Staten Island and its Islands is a beautiful study of the islands that make up NYC. In the back of the Newhouse, we inaugurate the new Snug Harbor Commons Galleries with S.O.S.: Stories of Staten, an installation celebrating the creativity and unity of Staten Island artists through music, visual art and fashion. This exciting new installation is curated by Staten Islanders William “STARDA” Perry and Charlie Rock. The pair are actively bringing positive change to the community by building some of Staten Islands platforms for young artists to showcase their talent, as well as working in numerous New York City schools.
