This collection of paintings is about a feeling of distance. In Almost Like We Know, David Loncle looks at the spaces inside and out of us that form and inform the structures of our living. In an exploration of change and uncertainty, Loncle asks how meaning arises through recognition and the lack thereof. This work seeks to make visible—in some uncertain way—the conventions, questions, and boundaries that define.

David Loncle is a Staten Island native and painter, writer, teacher and gardener. He works as an Adjunct Professor at the College of Staten Island teaching studio art and civics. He doesn’t think drawing a straight line has much to do with good drawing. He recommends using a ruler.
