The NYC Civic Engagement Commission, Snug Harbor, Canvas Institute, Project Hospitality, Central Family Life Center, and Jewish Community Center of SI are partnering to host The People’s Money: Staten Island Idea Generation Session! This event invites Staten Islanders to represent their neighborhood in NYC’s first-ever citywide participatory budgeting process by submitting ideas to address community needs.

WHEN: November 5 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
WHERE: Building P lobby at Snug Harbor, 1000 Richmond Terrace
ADMISSION: Free | Registration requested here

Since the Civic Engagement Commission launched The People’s Money on September 12th, 82 partner organizations have hosted over 150 idea generation sessions across the five boroughs, resulting in several hundred ideas being submitted at this early stage of the process. Idea generation sessions are direct opportunities for residents to engage in fun activities, while learning more about the city budget, and the power that their voice can hold to enact real change. After the idea generation session portion of the event, The People’s Bus will be hosting cultural, art, and civic engagement activations, while sharing Get Out the Vote resources supported by local food and live music.

Open seats may be limited due to venue capacity restrictions, so it is important to use this registration link (on.nyc.gov/PBinYourBorough) and secure a spot. Live interpretation will be available in American Sign Language, Spanish and Chinese.
