Learn some basics about how to take care of your land in your neighborhood–all at Farm to Family Saturdays! Every Saturday in August and September, we’ll be hosting a mini-party celebrating community and the bounty of growing our own food.

Compost Workshop: Learn about composting and healthy soils with a team of experts from the Urban Soils Lab at Brooklyn College, NRCS-NY, and the Heritage Farm team! Work with artist Mary Mattingly to create a series of soil monoliths, which illustrate land use and and carbon sequestration, telling a story about carbon capture through regenerative farming and agroforestry. The first 40 participants will get a free bag of compost from Snug Harbor’s windrow composting system.
