Gangstagrass combines great American traditions of bluegrass, hip-hop, and beyond to create a whole new musical genre that is more than the sum of its parts. Opening acts include Maker Park Radio DJ Tom Ferrie and Staten Island favorite The Jazztronauts. This event is rain or shine.

As their latest album No Time For Enemies climbed to #1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart, Americana Highways magazine proclaimed Emmy-nominated Gangstagrass “America’s Band” because they take so much of what’s amazing about this country — ingenuity, creativity, freedom, unity across differences, people’s individual strength and struggles — and distill it into a message of common ground in the form of original songs that have everyone up and dancing!
The Jazztronauts are Nutone Recordings funkiest fusion band. Hailing from Staten Island, NY, they are drummer AJ Pantaleo, trumpeter Josh (J.Glaze) Glazer, guitarist Dave Giordano, bassist Niall Sullivan, trombonist Shawn Rhoades, trumpeter/pianist Jesse Blum and saxophonist Kevin Edell.
Funds raised at this concert support the Heritage Farm at Snug Harbor. The Heritage Farm was established in October of 2011 to help feed, inspire, and educate the local community. The Heritage Farm is a 2.5-acre production farm that uses sustainable, low-till farming practices that focus on building soil health through the use of compost, crop rotation, intercropping, and cover cropping. Our goal is to provide Staten Island and NYC access to fresh and local produce for years to come.
