1-2PM: Community workshop in the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art

2-3PM: Performance in the Music Hall

Community artist workshop (Main Hall)

Emma Alabaster, a Brooklyn native and Staten Island transplant, has been working as a musician and educator for ten years. A fun, hands-on workshop to demystify the poetic process and tell our stories in verse! Using words, images, memory and our five senses, folks of all ages are invited to create together and get inspired.

Performance  (Music Hall)

The Mayhem Poets’ unique approach to spoken word seamlessly blends the raw elements of hip-hop, theater, improvisation, and stand-up comedy to tell gut-wrenching truths that leave audiences forever changed.

Lincoln Center’s Boro-Linc is free, family-friendly performances workshops, and exhibitions by Lincoln Center resident organizations and community-based artists to bring world-class family programming to all five boroughs.

Major support for Boro-Linc is provided by the Andrew Mellon Foundation. Generous support facilitated by the Honorable City Council members Rafael Salamanca, Jr., James Van Bramer, and I. Daneek Miller. Lead Corporate Support is provided by Time Warner, Inc.
