The New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden at Snug Harbor is the first authentic outdoor scholar’s garden built in the United States. Based on the classical Ming Dynasty period, the garden presents the four essential elements of the traditional garden: rocks, water, plants, and architecture. On this tour, explore how each element demonstrates the opposing principles of yin and yang and reveals the philosophical traditions of thousands of years.
