New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden Tour

Celebrate New York’s immigrant heritage as part of This is New York!  Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden’s New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden is the first authentic scholar’s garden built in the United States.  Based on the classical Ming Dynasty period, our Garden presents the four essential elements of the traditional garden:  rocks, water, plants, and architecture.   Explore how each element demonstrates the opposing principles of yin and yang and reveals the philosophical traditions of thousands of years.
