Newhouse Center Opening Day: Roots/Anchors and Don’t Shut Up

Celebrate the opening of two exciting new Newhouse Center exhibitions: Roots/Anchors is a new site-specific exhibit featuring the work of Katie Holten, Shervone Neckles, William Corwin, and Xaviera Simmons, opening at the Main Hall Gallery. Don’t Shut Up 2021, guest curated by Stefany Benson and Susan Grabel, presents the work of 46 women artists from across the US and Canada who are working to challenge and disrupt the status quo through their ongoing artistic practice.

WHEN: Sat, August 21 | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
WHERE: Opening Day festivities will take place on Shinbone Alley, and the exhibitions will be on view in the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art in Buildings C & G.
ADMISSION: Free admission to Opening Day festivities and both exhibitions on August 21
