Party with us as part of this year’s FIGMENT. We’ll be out on the lawn at Shinbone Alley kicking the night away with cool vibes and performances by DJ Mike Diexverse and music artist Honeychild Coleman. Experience Queer Van Kult: Revelation at the Newhouse Center, a liturgy of performance, installation, and music with a focus on queer artistry and multimedia work. Revelation invites visitors to be “unborn” from societal expectations and enter a world where queerness is a preexisting condition.
WHEN: June 4 | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
WHERE: Party outside at Shinbone Alley with Queer Van Kult: Revelation on view at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Building C
ADMISSION: Free | Registration requested
Additionally, explore the nighttime activation of LEIMAY’s Correspondences, a sculptural installation-performance by multidisciplinary artist duo Ximena Garnica and Shige Moriya offering multiple entry points to engage with questions of being, interdependence, and coexistence. It will take place at the Wetlands at 8 PM.
Snug Harbor is proud to partner with FIGMENT, a free participatory arts event that celebrates creativity by challenging artists and participants to find new ways to create, share, and dream. For one weekend this summer, FIGMENT will transform Snug Harbor on Staten Island into a large-scale collaborative artwork – and then it’s gone.
