Based on the classical Ming Dynasty period, our Garden presents the four essential elements of the traditional garden: rocks, water, plants, and architecture. Explore how each element demonstrates the opposing principles of yin and yang and reveals the philosophical traditions of thousands of years.
Event is rain or shine.
This program is made possible with funding provided by the New York City Council through the Cultural Immigrant Initiative, a program of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Snug Harbor thanks Council Members David Carr, Kamillah Hanks, and Joseph Borelli for their generous allocations.
The Friends of the Chinese Scholar’s Garden provides continuing support in the maintenance of the New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden.
