Pumpkin Smash

Bring pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and gourds to Snug Harbor for a smashing good time! You smash them, and the NYC Compost Project will turn them into compost for New York City parks and green spaces.

WHEN: November 7, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
WHERE: Compost Demonstration Site (southeast corner of campus near red barn. View map at snug-harbor.org/visit/directions)
ADMISSION: Free!

No pumpkins?  No problem! Bring us your leaves and pick up a paper lawn and leaf bag!

Can’t make it? You can bring your jack-o-lanterns, fall leaves, and other organic materials to Snug Harbor food scrap drop-off site every week of the year on Thursdays from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM! For a map of food scrap drop-off sites, visit nyc.gov/dropfoodscraps.

This event is rain or shine and organized by NYC Compost Project hosted by Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden. For questions on this event, please contact Makela Elvy at melvy@snug-harbor.org.
