Join interdisciplinary artist and current Guggeinheim Fellow, Sarah Cameron Sunde, for a conversation and guided walk towards the wetlands to look for the presence of water on the Snug Harbor campus, and connect with it in a more than human way. This walk is recommended for anyone who is interested in movement, performance art, place studies, environmental causes, and climate change.

This activity is part of a lead up to the culminating work in the 36.5 series, 36.5 / New York Estuary, which will take place from 7:27am-8:06pm on September 14 in Queens, with participation from 36.5 global sites including Bangladesh, Brazil, Kenya, the Netherlands, and Aotearoa-New Zealand. Staten Island residents are invited to watch the performance livestreamed performance at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art at Snug Harbor.

Featuring dance classes, site-specific performances, workshops, and a showcase of Staten Island choreographers, the Snug Harbor Dance Festival on August 6 – 7 creates space for artists and communities to get inspired, create, and connect through movement.
