SMITE, A Bible Epic is a multi-site-specific spectacle taking place around the building and gardens of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Gardens. Get ready to experience classic biblical stories like never before! This walking performance will have its audience engaged and they can enjoy the dance pieces with original music, both live and recorded. Viewers will get to experience Snug Harbor’s great scenery while simultaneously taking in the dynamic performances about classical biblical stories created by Lawrence Goldhuber/BIGMANARTS.

The audience will be on a tour led by Moses (Rhetta Aleong) and Jesus (Stanley Love), we will encounter familiar stories told anew (David and Goliath, Salome, Noah, etc.) Featuring an amazing cast with such notable dance legends as Robert La Fosse (NYCB), and Gus Solomons, Jr.(Graham, Cunningham), the show is created by Lawrence Goldhuber/ BIGMANARTS. Goldhuber made his name as a Bessie Award winning, longtime principle dancer with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Original music will be played live and on tape by Geoff Gersh, also featuring a film by artist Marilene Oliver. Running time of 2 hours, be prepared to walk and stand. Contains mature themes and language. Audience should be prepared with appropriate walking shoes/attire.
