Join us at the second design-focused Community Input Workshop for Snug Harbor’s Master Plan on Wednesday, July 17 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in Building P.
Snug Harbor, with support from City Agencies, is creating a new 15-year master plan. We have assembled a team of world-class architects, engineers, and consultants to create a visionary yet practical roadmap for Snug Harbor’s future. We want this master plan to reflect the voices of those that use and love our campus–so please join us for an opportunity to brainstorm with our design team!
WHERE: Building P Lobby
Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden
1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301
WHEN: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM | July 17, 2019
RSVP to tfeo@snug-harbor.org. Please share this invite with anyone we may have missed who is invested in our future.
This will be a workshop session, with hands-on exercises to push you to “think outside the box” and get creative. Please note, this session is a continuation of our May workshop and will reflect the feedback we received during that event. This workshop will also give you an opportunity to weigh in on three design options for the master plan that incorporate your feedback and the hard work of the entire design team. Snug Harbor’s future will be brighter with your input–come see what we have in mind for the future!
Here’s some background on this exciting venture:
As you may be aware, this past fall Snug Harbor began an exciting new master planning effort in collaboration with New York City’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), referred to as our Capital Project Scope Development (CPSD). The key objective of the CPSD is to determine the scope of work, phasing, and budget necessary to address the current and future capital needs across Snug Harbor’s entire campus. We worked closely with these City agencies to develop the scope of the CPSD, focusing on visitor experience, asset preservation, infrastructure improvements, and realistic cost estimating.
Partnering with City agencies, we assembled a team of world-class architects, engineers, and consultants lead by Marvel Architects and the LiRo group. Our team consists of experts in fields ranging from landscape architecture, visitor experience, IT infrastructure, sustainability solutions, signage and wayfinding, and everything in between. The CPSD process will complete this upcoming fall with a fully phased and cost-estimated 15-year master plan for Snug Harbor that will provide a roadmap for future capital requests.
