Your garden will be the envy of the block with hard-to-find annuals and hardy perennials, including herbaceous peonies, various iris species, and cultivars on sale. The Heritage Farm will offer seedlings from our heated poly-house ready to transplant in your home garden. Farm seedlings include various herbs, broccoli, chard, eggplant, kale, tomatoes, peppers and more, all grown without the use of chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers.
Special Presentations
11:00 AM-12:00 PM:
Shephali Patel of the NYC Compost Project will present “Healthy Herb Start” on growing and caring for herbs, held at the Compost Demonstration Site.
Dick Doran, nationally renowned orchid grower, will critique the Staten Island Orchid Society and Deep Cut Orchid Society’s orchid competition in Building P.
12:00 PM:
Jeff Li of the SI Orchid Society will present “Orchids 101.”
1:00 PM-2:00 PM:
Wambui Ippolito of Snug Harbor’s Horticulture team will present on unusual annuals for containers at the Carl Grillo Glass House.
The NYC Compost Project will also be on hand to give away 15-pound bags of DSNY Compost (while supplies last). Harbor Eats will be open from 9:30 AM-5:00 PM.
