Get outside and enjoy the Snug Harbor Spring Break! In this weeklong session from April 18 – 22, your kids can take guided nature walks, make art, find their favorite reading spot on campus, and learn about the science of composting.
WHEN: April 18 – 22
Regular session hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
After-care session hours*: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
*After-care sessions are only available for Snug Harbor Spring Break registrants. Your child must be registered for this programs to qualify for the after-care session.
WHERE: Dropoff and pickup location is the red barn at the southeast corner of campus near the Heritage Farm. Enter the P1 parking lot and follow through to the end (see campus map here: snug-harbor.org/visit/directions)

After-care hours: $100 per child

Snug Harbor’s youth programs offer a hands-on experience learning about the natural world and all the unique spaces Snug Harbor has to offer:
- Meditate in the NY Chinese Scholar’s Garden
- Plant seeds on the Heritage Farm
- Explore the woodlands and Sensory Garden
This spring, a special focus will be on the fascinating world of compost. We will take care of our wriggly worms in our worm bins, identify other decomposers hard at work, learn how we compost at Snug Harbor, and how you can compost at home.
This program is for children aged 7-11. All Snug Harbor Spring Break events are rain or shine. This will be a small cohort, so we can be sure every child will have plenty of COVID-safe space. All guidelines regarding COVID safety will be followed by all participants. As per the city emergency executive order 225, all participants ages 5 years of age and older need to provide proof of vaccination in order to enter indoor spaces. Vaccinations will be checked on the first day of the week.
