Dyeing to learn a new skill? Learn the magic of indigo dye through Shibori techniques in this hands-on beginner’s workshop with artist Janice Patrignani. Shibori is an ancient Japanese fiber art of bound resist dyeing. Using techniques of stitching, binding, folding, clamping, and wrapping, Shibori produces one of a kind permanent patterns on cloth. Indigo is a dye like no other and its iconic blue color has deep cultural roots throughout the world. Learn how to make an indigo vat and create beautiful designs using Shibori techniques on cotton fabric. All equipment and materials provided. Registration recommended.
