The Staten Island Philharmonic presents a FREE Ukrainian Heritage Concert. The first half of the program features Prokofiev’s iconic “Peter and the Wolf,” with Staten Island’s Luke Suter as Peter (and the French horns as the wolf), along with “Let the Darkness Out,” by Ukrainian composer Cathy Likhuta. Galo Morales is our solo alto sax, and Joseph Kubera is featured on keyboard.
WHEN: June 25 | 6:00 PM
WHERE: South Meadow Stage at Snug Harbor (View campus map here)
ADMISSION: Free
The one and only Leonard Bernstein was of Ukrainian heritage, so the second part of the program is all about him. It includes selections from West Side Story, and On the Town, as well as a suite from Candide.
This event will be canceled if there is heavy rain/lightning.
