Outdoor Explorers: Garden Ecology & Design (Middle School)
Unleash your creativity! Your children will explore the beauty and harmony of the NY Chinese Scholar’s Garden, Tuscan Garden, and Healing Garden (among others!), while learning about the vital role ecosystems and climate regions play in shaping these landscapes. Through an introduction to biophilic design, community mapping, and the connections between local ecology and garden design, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how nature and design intersect. Engaging workshops, hands-on eco-arts and craft activities, and insights from inspiring guest presenters will empower your children to reimagine these stunning spaces. The program wraps up with a group project where students showcase their innovative ideas to friends and family, celebrating their unique connection to nature, community, and the environment.
