Experience the art and stories of New York’s historic waterfront
The Noble Maritime Collection is where art brings the city’s working waterfront to life. Since 1986, the museum has celebrated the legacy of renowned artist John A. Noble and used his vision to make New York Harbor’s history, culture, and community impact accessible to all.
Explore Noble’s fully restored houseboat studio—meticulously rebuilt inside the museum—and discover the world he captured in his paintings and drawings. Dive into the history of Sailors’ Snug Harbor through original artifacts and artwork, walk through a recreated sailors’ dormitory, and admire intricate ship models that highlight the craftsmanship of maritime life.
Rotating exhibitions feature Noble’s iconic work alongside contemporary artists inspired by the sea, offering fresh perspectives on the waterfront’s enduring influence.
Visit to uncover the stories, artistry, and spirit that have shaped New York’s maritime heritage.
