The South Meadow is the largest open space at Snug Harbor at approximately 7.5 acres. It is ideal for large festivals and outdoor concerts. The South Meadow can be secured with temporary fencing for private and/or paid entry events.

Conveniently located along Chapel Road in the heart of Snug Harbor’s campus is the Gazebo Lawn. The 4-acre Gazebo Lawn provides an ideal location for smaller outdoor events, fairs, or performances. Gazebo Lawn can be secured with temporary fencing for private and/or paid entry events. An adjacent shaded parcel is also available.

With a backdrop of five striking Greek Revival buildings and overlooking the New York Harbor, the Front Meadow offers a striking setting for festivals, performances, and other outdoor events. Its size is approximately 1.33 acres.

The one-acre walled Chinese Scholar’s Garden is a superbly crafted example of traditional classical gardens developed in the city of Suzhou during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The garden features include the cloud-capped peak, distinctive lace bark pines, and architectural details in the windows, scholar’s study, tea room, and tent pavilion. It has been used for gala events, film shoots, fashion photo shoots, weddings, and dinners.

The Richmond County Savings Foundation Tuscan Garden is adjacent to Snug Harbor’s administration office in Building P. Its design was inspired by the 18th-century garden at the Villa Gamberaia in Florence, Italy. Consisting of flora, fountains, and reflecting pools, it is a popular for fashion shoots and small outdoor concerts.

If you’re looking for a flexible, comfortable space for your next performance or gathering, the Carpenter’s Shop offers 1,800 square feet designed to adapt to your needs. This 30′ x 60′ venue accommodates up to 100 guests and can be arranged for performances, memorial services, film screenings, photo shoots, presentations, and more. Climate control keeps the space comfortable year-round, and available add-ons for rent like chairs and tables make setup simple. Whether you’re producing a show or hosting an intimate event, the Carpenter’s Shop gives you room to create.

Perfect for meetings, presentations, receptions, or breakout sessions, the Building P Lobby offers over 2,000 square feet of customizable space on the historic first floor of the former Sailors’ Snug Harbor Nurses’ Dormitory. The total space is 2,073 square feet. Its versatility makes it ideal for groups that need options—whether you’re planning a corporate event, training, or community meeting.

The Learning Center is an adaptable, lower-level space in Building G designed for groups that need a classroom or studio-style setting. With seating for up to 40 people, it easily transforms into a lecture room, workshop space, rehearsal studio, or breakout room for larger conferences. If you need a practical, ready-to-use room for teaching, training, or creative development, the Learning Center offers comfort and flexibility.

The Harbor Room provides an intimate, professional environment ideal for small conferences, corporate meetings, strategy sessions, and workshops. Located on the lower level of Building G, this space seats 25 and features large rectangular tables that make collaboration easy. If your group needs a quiet, focused setting with a clean layout, the Harbor Room is designed for productive gatherings.

The historic Music Hall, which was constructed in 1892, is wheelchair accessible for patrons and staff. The main/orchestra level is accessible via ramp from the east parking lot sidewalk that leads directly to the front doors. There is no wheelchair access to the balcony level.

A wheelchair-accessible unisex restroom is located on the east side of the Music Hall’s main/orchestra level only.

Wheelchair-accessible locations and designated aisle transfer seats are available throughout the main/orchestra level. Please specify accessible seating when purchasing tickets to ensure the most suitable accommodations.

Wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, and canes may need to be stored during performances if they are obstructing the aisles. Ushers will mark and store mobility devices and return to patrons at intermission and the conclusion of the performance. The Music Hall does not presently have assistive listening devices or captioning devices, nor braille on signage.

A new Music Hall Annex was completed in 2026. In the new wheelchair-accessible annex, all entryways, restrooms, dressing rooms, office spaces and public spaces are accessible to individuals requiring mobility assistance.

The new annex building facilitates wheelchair access to the Music Hall stage and orchestra pit for performers.

The Snug Harbor Dance Center on the second floor of Building G contains three expansive, state-of-the-art dance studios available for rent to host classes, rehearsals, residency, and other related programming.

Amenities include:

• Studio G201 – 30 x 40’ with hardwood floors, no mirrors (capacity: 50)
• Studio G202 – 30 x 40’ with marley flooring, ballet barres, and mirrors (capacity: 50)
• Studio G203 – 19’ x 24’ with hardwood floors and mirrors (capacity: 35)
• Well-lit with natural light
• Air conditioning in summer and heating in winter

All rentals of the dance studios must be made at least 48 hours prior to requested usage. After room usage, please ensure all garbage is discarded into the trash receptacles provided.
