Explore Snug Harbor’s most vibrant seasonal garden
The Tropical Border is Snug Harbor’s only fully seasonal garden—and it transforms dramatically as the weather warms. Planted fresh each spring, this colorful border bursts into life with bold annuals that stretch into impressive heights and brilliant hues by midsummer. What you see in April will look completely different by August, making it a garden worth revisiting throughout the season.
As you wander, challenge yourself to spot some of the standout stars of the garden: the striking monkey puzzle trees, radiant hibiscus, sculptural bromeliads, fragrant ismene festalis, jewel-toned tigridia, lush dahlias, and sun-loving gazanias. Each one makes its appearance at different moments from spring through late summer.
Come see how the Tropical Border evolves—there’s always something new in bloom.
