The Snug Harbor Heritage Farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a subscription program that community members buy into before the growing season begins. This allows the farm to purchase needed materials (like soil and seeds) to begin the season.

CSA shares are now on sale! Our crop plan reflects more diverse options than ever before, thanks to the community members who provided suggestions. Enjoy a weekly variety of lettuces, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, herbs, flowers, and more. A CSA share will allow you and your family to pick up fresh produce grown on the Heritage Farm at the Sustainability Center every week for 20 weeks in the summer and early autumn. We welcome SNAP/EBT purchasing, and you can apply Health Bucks to your payment as well!

The deadline to purchase a CSA share is June 5, 2026.

This year, we continue with two major goals: joining the global movement to ensure seed sovereignty, and bringing community members deeper into the operations of the farm. To make sure we are fulfilling our role as ecological stewards, we selected varietals as old as we could secure, searching for seeds that have been bred for generations to thrive in our corner of the earth.  You may not recognize some of these plants, since they would never appear in your standard grocery store produce aisle. We trust the expertise of regional partners who have been collecting knowledge from generations, like Cornell Cooperative Extension Harvest New York, independent seed savers, Slow Food USA, and our partners in urban agriculture across the region.

Are you a Snug Harbor Member? Our members receive a 5% discount on their CSA share. Join or renew your membership before you purchase, and contact [email protected] for your members-only discount code to input online when you’re purchasing.

Our Contributors

Snug Harbor Heritage Farm is honored to receive support from New York State Agriculture and Markets, the People’s Garden Initiative of the United States Department of Agriculture, and the Vincent Grupposo Foundation.  These supports help keep our produce prices low while providing employment to local residents.

Some Farm Stand events are sponsored by NYC City Council, particularly Community Composting and A Greener NYC. Snug Harbor is deeply grateful for these supports which allow us to serve our community’s needs.
