Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden’s main campus is free of charge to the public.

Three of our attractions – the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, the New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden, and the Connie Gretz Secret Garden – require admission fees. Learn about their hours of operation here.

Snug Harbor offers a variety of public events for all ages and interests. All events are rain or shine unless otherwise indicated. Snug Harbor has a no-refund policy on all event tickets.

Our campus partner organizations are managed separately and have their own admission prices.  Learn about admission to the Staten Island Museum, the Staten Island Children’s Museum, and the Noble Maritime Collection here.


Tickets to Snug Harbor seasonal events:

Snug Harbor has a ton of fun events every season! Learn what’s happening at all of our sitewide museums and galleries on our calendar, and buy tickets for Snug Harbor events here.

*Note: Tickets for events at the Staten Island Museum, Staten Island Children’s Museum, Noble Maritime Collection, or any of our other campus or community partners are sold through those organization’s websites and are not available on Snug Harbor’s ticketing page.


Admission to the New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden:

The New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden will reopen to the public on October 3, 2020.

  • $5 for adults
  • $4 for seniors (65+) and students
  • Free for children 5 and under, active military (Blue Star program), and Snug Harbor Member
  • Staten Island residents admitted FREE on the first Saturday of each month with proof of residency!

Admission to the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art:

The Newhouse Center is closed until early 2021 due to the global health pandemic.

  • $5 for adults
  • $4 for seniors (65+) and students
  • Free for children 5 and under, active military (Blue Star program), Snug Harbor Members, and students grades 6-12 with student ID

Tickets can be purchased in the
Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, located in Buildings C & G on the front lawn along Richmond Terrace across from the Randall Memorial.

Admission to the Connie Gretz Secret Garden:

The Connie Gretz Secret Garden is closed until 2021 due to the global health pandemic.

  • $3 for children 12 years of age and under
  • $2 for children of Snug Harbor Members
  • Free for adults (must be accompanied by a child)

Tickets can be purchased at the Connie Gretz Secret Garden, located on Cottage Row, on the south end of campus near the Healing Garden and the South Gate on Henderson Ave.
