Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden’s main outdoor grounds and gardens are free of charge to the public, open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk, and do not require advance registration or ticketing.

Two of our attractions – the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, the New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden require admission fees and have different hours of operation. Learn about their hours of operation here.

Snug Harbor offers a variety of public events for all ages and interests. All events are rain or shine unless otherwise indicated. Snug Harbor has a no-refund policy on all event tickets.

*Note: Tickets for events at the Staten Island Museum, Staten Island Children’s Museum, Noble Maritime Collection, or any of our other campus or community partners are sold through those organization’s websites and are not available on Snug Harbor’s ticketing page.


Admission to the New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden:

  • $5 for adults
  • $4 for seniors (65+) and students
  • Free for children 5 and under, active military (Blue Star program), and Snug Harbor Member
  • Staten Island residents admitted FREE on the first Saturday of each month with proof of residency!
