Rosemarie Callahan Memorial Fund

We at Snug Harbor are proud to honor the legacy of Rosemarie Callahan and her work as the driving force behind Staten Island Children’s Theatre Association. Rosemarie’s devotion to the arts and teaching theatre to Staten Island children of all ages will be remembered by renovating and naming Studio G201 in the Dance Center at Snug Harbor as the Rosemarie Callahan Studio in her memory.

Donate to the Rosemarie Callahan Memorial Fund

Rosemarie Callahan was a Staten Island community leader in Arts Education who made Snug Harbor Cultural Center her second home for 35 years. Through her work as a teacher, performer and President of the Staten Island Children’s Theatre Association Inc, she introduced thousands of children to theater through performing arts classes and theatrical performances housed in the studios and theaters of Snug Harbor. Please help us keep her legacy alive on campus by supporting the dedication of the beloved G201 Dance Studio in her memory.

Rosemarie—her work, her family, her spirit—touched so many lives in our community and on our campus. Her legacy lives on through Staten Island Children’s Theatre and in the minds, hearts and artistic practices of generations of performers and their families. Her passion for the arts inspired so many. We are proud to extend this honor in her memory.

If Rosemarie has touched your life, or if you share a similar passion for the arts—especially theatre—please donate to help us meet our $10,000 goal to renovate and name the Rosemarie Callahan Studio.

$10 – These performers need an audience! Your gift will help purchase new folding chairs for recitals and performances.

$25 – Safety first! This contribution purchases new window guards, pole pads, and reinforcements for barres.

$50 – Lights, camera, action! Your donation purchases lighting and sound equipment, upgrades and fixtures.

$100 – Paint the studio. Provide a fresh, clean space for these young thespians to rehearse in! Gifts of $100+ will be listed on a special donor plaque at the studio.

$250 – Support Snug Harbor in providing discounted rental rates to community groups using the dance studios to create local arts programming.

$500 – Spring ahead! Your donation is applied to the repair and replacement of the marley flooring in the dance studio. This slip-resistant, sprung dance floor provides a safe space for young dancers to leap, tumble, and land.

Gifts of any size in Rosemarie’s memory are welcome, and all donors will be recognized on this tribute page below.  All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Checks can be made out to Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden and mailed to:
