Snug Harbor Sustainability Center
Come spend a day marveling
at the beauty of nature’s wonders.
Your gateway to community composting, functional plants, and green living
At Snug Harbor, we believe that caring for the earth begins right at home—and that everyone deserves the tools to make a positive impact.
As part of our commitment to a greener future, the Snug Harbor Sustainability Center empowers you to get involved with our community composting operations, discover how medicinal and functional plants have supported wellness for generations, explore the fascinating world of ozone gardens, and learn the essentials of urban growing. These experiences help you not only understand sustainability—but experience it in action.
When we work together, community-based composting becomes more than a practice; it becomes a shared effort to transform food waste into nutrient-rich soil instead of harmful greenhouse gas. Your participation helps nourish local gardens, strengthen environmental resilience, and cultivate a healthier Staten Island. We’re excited to welcome you into this growing community.
