For centuries, scholar’s gardens were centers of meditation and artistic discipline. This workshop will immerse you in the Chinese Scholar’s Garden in a meaningful way. After meditation, you’ll engage in shui mo hua, or ink wash painting, and bring home the essence of the garden.

On Snug Harbor’s 2.5-acre soil-based sustainable production farm, there is always something delicious growing. Learn about how we manage the agroecology to serve our food system. You have the option to add on a special Heritage Farm workshop, which varies by season.

Snug Harbor is an 83-acre culture park with state-mapped wetlands and 12 distinctive public gardens. Explore two of the gardens in peak season and then see the propagation center and unusual plants in the Carl Grillo Glass House.
